About N Him
2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us that if anyone is in Christ, that person is a new creature, old things are gone, and all things are new. Taking their name from this verse, N Him strives, through song, to proclaim this gospel of Jesus Christ. The message to everyone is always the same: there is hope and forgiveness in Christ alone.
Located in Olive Branch, Mississippi, Mid-South trio, N Him, boasts three decades of rich, Southern Gospel heritage. Described as a blend of Gold City and The Gaither Vocal Band, N Him members Chris Bennett, Chip Distin, and Allen Hoover balance their different experiences and influences to produce a sound definitively their own.
Chris Bennett - Baritone
Chris Bennett was born in Warwick, Rhode Island and raised in Central Arkansas. At an early age, Chris felt God's call on his life to spread the gospel through music. With over three decades in Southern Gospel music life, Chris says in his own words, "Now that I'm in my 40s, I'm having more fun than ever doing just that!"
Chris is married to his wife Lynette since 1986, and currently resides in Olive Branch, Mississippi. They have three children, Aaron, 16, Brad, 14, and Kirstie, 11.
"My personal goal in life and ministry is to walk in the destiny that God has for me, and always be available to go wherever God leads. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!"
Chip Distin - Lead
Chip is one of the most unique and special singers to come along in Southern Gospel music in a long time. Like the other members of N Him, Chip felt a calling to minister and spread the from an early age and has been pursuing it ever since. A strong lead, Chip's voice captures the attention of the audience in what friends and family call "a special combination of God-given talent and anointing."
Chip lives in Greenbrier, Arkansas with his wife of 21 years, Sonny. They have two children, Blake, 21, and Lacey, 16. When not on the road, Chip is actively involved at the church where his father pastors.
Allen Hoover - Tenor
An exceptionally gifted tenor, Allen's clear, strong voice consistently wows audience everywhere N Him performs. The common refrain from the audience is "we weren't expecting a man to sing that high!" Allen's vocal gifts are only surpassed in his outgoing personality. His friends often comment that the one thing you quickly learn is Allen has never met a stranger. Whether on the road with N Him or in daily life, God faithfully uses this gift in Allen to minister to an otherwise hurting world.
Allen is currently a resident of Olive Branch, Mississippi where he lives with his wife of 26 years, Susan. Together they have two sons, Ryan, 21, and Dylan, 14. When not travelling with N Him, Allen and Susan are active members of Broadway Baptist Church of Southaven, Mississippi.
